To get in touch with regional stakeholders our Austrian partner University of Vienna – CVL participated in a meeting of a project that analyses field trials to regulate the growth and spreading of Colchicum autumnale on grasslands of high nature value in the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve.
Together with Biosphärenpark Wienerwald, ÖKL – Österreichisches Kuratorium für Landtechnik und Landentwicklung and Arge Vegetationsökologie und Landschaftsplanung (AVL), farmers are testing near-natural methods to reduce this plant, which is poisonous to livestock, to preserve the extensive management and therefore state of conservation of these seminatural grasslands.
